Air bubbles in the water will affect the measurement of the water meter. When there is air in the pipe network, bubbles will enter the water meter along with the water flow. At this time, there will be two possible situations.
The first case:
    After the bubbles enter the water meter with the water flow, the bubbles pass through the water meter in the form of air impurities. At this time, the water meter will generate a false pulse, because the current measurement technology cannot distinguish between air volume and water flow volume. Therefore, in this case, the water meter will produce a positive error, that is, the water meter is generally said to move faster.
The second case:
    After the bubbles enter the water meter along with the water flow, the bubbles immerse into the water meter and stay in the water meter temporarily. We know that for wet water meters, the transmission part of the rotor counting component and the bearing of the impeller are immersed in water and work under water lubrication. If air bubbles stay in these parts, it will affect the lubrication of water and increase frictional resistance. In addition, if air bubbles stay in the counting part, it may also hinder the rotary movement of the pointer and the number roller. Therefore, in this case, due to greater resistance to the operation of the water meter, a negative error will occur, that is, the water meter is usually slow.
    So, how to avoid the influence of bubbles in the water? After the installation I is completed, the corresponding pipes should be fully exhausted, so that the formation of bubbles can be avoided. However, it is inevitable that a small amount of air will leak into the water meter when the water meter is replaced or when the water supply is restored after a water stop. Some water meters are designed to accelerate the emission of such air impurities, so that it is only a matter of time before the air is "dissolved" in the water.
